After a surfing accident left Pete a C7 quadriplegic with limited use of his hands, he wondered would he ever be able to make art again. 5 years of frustration, experimenting with different techniques and approaches has lead down many different avenues. Being confined to a wheelchair and with limited movement in his upper body Pete has had to adapt adapt and adapt. Originally trying to paint as he did before the accident Pete began to use photography and Photoshop to better help him plan the next stages of a painting. Slowly the digital planning of the painting became more and more the creative part and the painting of the painting became autonomous and machine like. Come and share Pete’s artistic journey from 5 years behind the canvas. From large scale oil paintings taking a satirical look at life in a wheelchair to digital re-workings of old classic photographs from years ago, even good old Donald Trump makes an appearance!
