Rochester Shire Hall
Opening Night: Wed. 25th April 7.30pm Public Admission: Thursday 26th - Sunday 29th April, 10am-5pm.
The Rochester Fine Art exhibition has been held every 2 years since 2008 and is a major fundraiser for the Rochester and Elmore District Health Service (REDHS). Now in its sixth year, it will again focus on established and emerging artists (from locally sourced to further afield), engaging in a wide variety of art practices including painting, sculpture, textiles, ceramics and more. The venue for the exhibition is, as always, the original, restored Rochester Shire Hall which has both indoor and outdoor exhibition spaces. Opening night which is a ticketed event, will be held on Wed. 25th and include a short artist talk by Dr. Susan McMinn. Susan’s work has been created from concepts inspired by horses in wartime, in particular WW1 and the Palestinian campaigns. Our feature artist is Pete Conroy whose artistic journey has taken him from teaching art to creating his own pieces drawn from a variety of themes including politics, surf culture and the experiences and challenges of life lived as a paraplegic.
